CISS organized its 4th Summer Workshop on Strategic Matters from 3-5 October 2023.
The workshop aimed to foster expertise and advance strategic thinking among our academic peers and contributors to the field by connecting practioners and academics from across Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
The participants discussed an extensive array of topics, including the dynamic global and regional strategic landscape, global nuclear order, Pakistan’s nuclear policy, deterrence strategy and strategic stability, nuclear command and control, nuclear safety and security, and the role of nuclear technology in Pakistan’s socioeconomic development.
In addition to intellectual discussions and interactive sessions, the workshop included a study visit to SUPARCO and the Pakistan National History Museum.
CISS has received an overwhelmingly positive feedback, with the workshop’s attendees expressing a desire for the initiative to continue and expand. The event showcased our commitment to excellence in policy research, analysis, and outreach.
