Even as India and China celebrate the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic ties this year, tensions have escalated on the disputed border. After a clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley led to the first casualties on the border in several decades, this discussion will examine how India-China economics, diplomatic, and strategic/military relations are likely to evolve in light of the crisis.

Pushan Das is Head of Forums at the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in New Delhi. He tracks and analyses developments in Indian foreign and security policies.
Antara Ghosal Singh is a Research Associate at the Delhi Policy Group (DPG). She graduated from Tsinghua University, China, is a Mandarin speaker, and a recipient of the Chinese Government Scholarship (2013-14).
Tuneer Mukherjee is a researcher of Asian security and his current focus is on naval modernization in South Asia. Previously, he was a Junior Fellow with the Observer Research Foundation’s Maritime Policy Initiative in New Delhi
Riaz Khokhar is a researcher at the Center for International Strategic Studies (CISS), Islamabad. He was also an Asia Studies Visiting Fellow at the East-West Center in Washington, D.C., April through June 2019.
Zoe Jordan is a Research Assistant with Stimson’s South Asia Program where she leads the Track II and Simulations project.
