The Center for International Strategic Studies (CISS) organized an In-House roundtable discussion on August. 02, 2019. The guest speaker, Dr. Rizwan Zeb, Associate Professor at Iqra Univeristy, Islamabad, deliberated on “Baloch Nationalist Narrative – Kalat Accession with Pakistan: Separating Facts from Fiction”.
The Executive Director of CISS, Ambassaor Ali Sarwar Naqvi welcomed the honorable guest speaker and expressed his views on the significance of the subject. The speaker shared his in-depth research on the topic through a detail presentation. While illustrating various instances from history that led to the accession of Kalat with Pakistan in 1947, Dr. Zeb highlighted several myths and facts associated with the narrative. He presented various legal, political and historical instances from his research that are not commonly known or available in the literature on the subject. He emphasized on the need for Pakistani authors, academics and scholars to study history and contribute through research articles and books which are seriously lacking. His presentation was followed by the interactive discussion and question-answer session. The participants offered special thanks to Dr. Zeb for an insightful and detailed presentation.
