Executive Director CISS Ambassador Ali Sarwar Naqvi was invited to participate at The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue officially known as the 17th ASIA SECURITY SUMMIT SINGAPORE from 1-3 June 2018. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the keynote speaker at the Summit. The summit was chaired by Dr. John Chipman, Director-General and Chief Executive, IISS. The plenary sessions were addressed by Defence Ministers of many countries including US Secretary Defence General (Retd) James Mattis, Japan’s Minister of Defence Itsunori Onodera, Australian Minister for Defence Marise Payne, and United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Defence Gavin Williamson.
Ambassador Naqvi was also invited to speak at a special panel event discussion India-China relations: prospects for cooperation and competition. This panel was chaired by Mr. Rahul Roy-Chaudhury, Senior Fellow for South Asia at the IISS.
